The Precious Pearls

March 13, 2026·By Women of the Way Ministries

Teenage girls in the slums of Walukuba Masese face pressures no child should carry — the constant risk of exploitation, early marriage, and being treated as something to be used rather than someone to be valued. The Precious Pearls exists to tell them the truth: they are not for sale.

A space of their own

Every second Sunday, around thirty teenage girls gather for mentoring built just for them. Together they talk about identity, faith, purity, friendship, dignity and dreams for the future — the conversations a caring older sister or mother would have, in a place where many girls have neither.

“In Precious Pearls I learned I am not for sale. I learned to say no, and to dream.” — a Precious Pearls member, age 16

Guarding futures

By surrounding these girls with mentors, scripture and a community that sees their worth, the program guards both their present safety and their future — helping them stay in school, hold on to hope, and grow into the women God made them to be.
